Hello, church, 28th of October 2014

Psalm 17:1-6 “ Hear a just cause, O Lord; attend to my cry!

    Give ear to my prayer from lips free of deceit!

From your presence let my vindication come!

    Let your eyes behold the right!

You have tried my heart, you have visited me by night,

    you have tested me, and you will find nothing;

    I have purposed that my mouth will not transgress.

With regard to the works of man, by the word of your lips

    I have avoided the ways of the violent.

My steps have held fast to your paths;

    my feet have not slipped.

I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God;

    incline your ear to me; hear my words.”

Isn’t this what God hears coming out of your lips when you are praying to Him in the morning? Nice words and yet if you haven’t prayed this way until now it is time to do so. What is so exciting about that? Well, let me show you what excited me in this prayer of King David.

First of all: „my prayer from lips free of deceit”. I have always wanted one thing to remain unchanged in my life and this is when I pray to God to know in my heart that the words that come out of my mouth are a 100% free of deceit. Halleluiah! I personally believe that God listens to these kinds of prayes and answers them. It is my purpose to be truthful to God, to my wife, to the church and this has always made me feel free, strong, confident and happy.

Second of all: I want to know that when God looks upon my life, upon my spiritual heart, He sees no ill intention, no evil thoughts nor wishes. I wish to always be able to tell Him “You have tried my heart, you have visited me by night, you have tested me, and you will find nothing”. Are me and you brother or sister confident in these words when we stand before God? If your heart and consciousness don’t condemn you of anything, then your prayer will be heard.

Third: “I have purposed that my mouth will not transgress”. I should really watch out for this, Lord. Let my thoughts be pleasing to You and let them always be pure so that I could always speak your Word with blessing. I do not wish to speak more than what you have put in my heart and if I open my mouth I would hardly count the many blessings you have granted me personally.

Fourth: “my feet have not slipped”. No matter what my foes do to me this could not influence my spiritual life nor my relationship with God. Amen! Halleluiah! The acts of demons, people’s envy or arrogance has not kept me from loving You and following your path. My opponents have fallen under Your mighty fist and I have remained untouched because of Your protection. I stand firmly on the rock that is Jesus Christ and I will never slip nor fall because You are with me.

And fifth: “I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God”. Dear brothers and sisters I want to be certain that you believe your prayers to God will bear fruit. There should be no uncertainty that He is listening to you and knows your thoughts. Thank God for His great mercy towards all of us and may His name be glorified forever.

With lots of love,

Pastor Vasil Petrov

P.S. We had a great time with the Bulgarian evangelist church in London on the 26th of October in the Chelsea quarter with Pastor Dimitar Boiukliev. The hall was full of Bulgarians who live and work in London but also with guests from Bulgaria, Spain and other parts of England. I would like to say that God showed His great power in this place and His mercy and love could be felt from everybody as the Heavenly Kingdom was in that place. After I spoke from my heart the word that God had given me for this church the Holy Spirit started to perform His deeds in the hearts of the people. There was time for repentance, recovery and two souls wanted to receive the Holy Spirit more than anything. God did this dramatically and powerfully in the life of those people so that it could be read in their eyes and heart. Glory be to the Lord for our time there. God recovered the hearts of people who had lived with bitterness towards each other which was reason for great joy in all of us. Isn’t it great when brothers and sisters live together in unity? Amen! May God bless the Body of Christ – the church in London and may everybody stand together in the unity of God’s love to praise Him and honor Him in their hearts.

We will spend the next few days in Nottingham with our Internet church. The time I have with those people is truly valuable and exciting for me. The warmth and love that await us here are indescribable. God hasn’t stopped performing miracles in our lives every day and I will speak of them in my next messages to the church. May Jesus be glorified as a King, God and Savior. Amen!
